It’s not about having a certain opinion, or having a point of view that sways one way or another. It’s about pointing out the idiocy of people not only on Tumblr, but in the world. To that, if people are going to, for example, take a photo of a favela and talk about how amazing it is because it’s colourful, but totally ignore the fact that favelas are disgusting, crime-ridden slums, then don’t they deserve to be taught some perspective?
I resent the ignorance and idiocy of society. I truly hate the world I live in. That seems to manifest itself as a blind rage towards everybody that embodies what I see to be the terrible parts of society. I am attempting to shift the focus of EC, but, as you can see, old habits die hard.

I assume this is in response to my last post.
Anonymous? Unsurprising. You could reveal your identity. It’s not like it’d make a difference to your immense arrogance. You think that this is about ego? Maybe I believe that there’s more to life than pretending to be arty and sophisiticated.
If you really want to stand by your words, please comment under your real identity. I’d respect you a little bit more if you did. At this point, you’re simply just an asshole, and, because of that, I see no reason to reconsider what I’m doing here.
AMAZING
This is not amazing. The fact that this post exists is testament to how little you stupid Tumblr hipsters understand about the real world. It just shows your total lack of any knowledge about anything that exists outside of your pathetic, faux-artistic mind. Just because this place has buildings with some colour on them, it doesn’t mean that the place is nice. In reality, the sheer fact that places like this exist is an affront to human nature. It doesn’t matter what aspect you look at this picture from, there is no redeeming quality about it. It has no artistic merit, and nothing that could possibly make it good. Do you understand why? This place is called a ‘favela’:
fa·ve·la
noun /fəˈvelə/
favelas, pluralA Brazilian shack or shanty town; a slum
(Source)
What has been said about this photo essentially negates any true message it could convey. This is not a place of beauty, and it is definitely not an “amazing” place. This favela is, in fact, an almost-lawless, crime-ridden, poverty-stricken shanty town, and all you can think about is how pretty the colours look? Disgusting.
The fact that this has been posted with the tag “hipster” is another reason to look upon it with contempt. The only “hipster” thing about this photo is the clear ignorance and arrogance with which it has been posted and commented on. How can anybody possibly see something good in this photo? It staggers the mind.
Favelas are, almost without exception, governed by drug gangs and other criminals. As such, drugs and violence a rampant in the community:
The cocaine trade has affected Brazil and in turn its favelas, which tend to be ruled by drug lords. Regular shoot-outs between traffickers and police and other criminals, as well as assorted illegal activities, lead to murder rates in excess of 40 per 100,000 inhabitants in the city of Rio and much higher rates in some Rio favelas.[13]

So far, you’ve learned that not only are favelas “slums,” but you’ve also learned that “regular shootouts” and “assorted illegal activities” are the norm. If, as I suspect, you weren’t already aware of this, then you’re merely an ignorant ass. If not, and you knowingly disregarded the truth of these favelas simply to pretend to have some kind of artistic bent, then you are something far worse. If you did that, and willingly ignored the fear and suffering that the favela residents have to live through every day, then you are scum, and don’t deserve whatever privileges your upper-middle-class life has afforded you.
If you are a person that looks at a picture like this, and instead of thinking “What can I do to help?”, starts having a hipster wank, pretending that you’re some kind of art expert, when actually all you are is an arrogant asshole with no semblence of talent, taste, or artistic merit, then you should be sent to one of these favelas to get some perspective, and learn about real life. You’re pathetic, and you serve no useful purpose to humanity.
Ego contemno… ignorant, arrogant assholes (see: hipsters).

I should be back shortly. I’ve just been pretty snowed under with assignments, exams, and just general shit. I haven’t really had time for Tumblr, but hopefully I’ll be back soon.
“Days before his disappearance, Shahzad had authored an article that alleged links between navy officials and al Qaeda.
Ali Imran, a Coordinator at the South Asia Free Media Association (Safma) in an email stated that Mr Shahbaz had left his house in Islamabad to participate in a television program but that he did not reach the TV station.
He did not contact his family and friends either, Mr Imran said, adding that Mr Shahzad’s mobile phone and car had not been traced yet.”
Spread the word, everyone.

The funny thing is, no, they didn’t.
Maybe that’s less funny that I’d originally envisaged. Either way, I’ve received no reply. Not even a dismissive “This is not relevant to Support” email. I guess I hit a nerve.

“Offensive” isn’t really the right word. Offensiveness levels are subjective, and regardless of your views on what I write, I’m not intending to be offensive. I do, however, intend for the posts to be controversial, and to single people out for being idiots, losers, and dicks.
To be honest, I agree with you, and I’m trying to change the layout of EC to reflect a higher level of maturity, but I guess I’m still clinging to old ways.
Now, people may be free to blog what they want, but not only is it against Tumblr’s policy to reblog like a mindless fuck, it’s also reprehensible from an intellectual perspective. What’s the point of having a blog if you’re just copying stuff from other people? If you did something like that anywhere else in the public domain, you’d hear the word “plagiarism” a lot. It bothers me that, for some reason, people think it’s acceptable to act as if they were in some way responsible for the content that is posted here, when, in fact, the majority of the content here is plagiarised from other places with no reference to the original source.
Also, I never claimed to be a superior race of human. However, if people do stupid things and act like sheep and fools then I think I’m well within my rights to point them out, and put them down. Like you said, people are free to blog what they want.
Honestly, though, thanks for the question. You made me think a little about what I want to do with this Tumblr.

This is much nicer from an English standpoint.
